Applying Yourself in the Job Application Process

Date: Saturday, March 31, 2012

Time: 1:00 - 2:00 pm

Place: The Ewing Branch of the Mercer County Library System (map)

Description: This workshop would be focused upon helping class participants become more educated on the topic of correct application procedure. This would include how to correctly format a resume, answer questions properly during interviewing and overall application protocol when attempting to be hired by a new employer. Rather than a class solely focused on resumes, this workshop would be a hands-on approach that covers each and every aspect of how to handle a job application, as well as a few resume tips. Starting at the resume, and working through how to apply, what to wear to the interview, how to correctly answer any interview questions asked, and what procedures to follow once that interview is over; this workshop could be an interesting new approach to help the community successfully find and land a new job, especially important during such a trying time in the economy. Through the use of example resumes, power-point displays, and great public speakers, the workshop would be entertaining and educational.

Facilitators: Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity at the College of New Jersey consists of students who have a thorough background in the topic and who can adequately teach this course and enjoy the experience.
